'Eta Carina, Where You Gone So Long'. Till 1868 Eta Carina remained one of the brightest burning stars in the sky, then mysteriously faded.

Acrylic 36"x28" Work in progress
In the southern hemisphere Eta Carina is about 100 times more massive than the sun and one-million times more luminous.
In 1843  it flared from complete darkness, becoming the second brightest star in our galaxy. Till 1868 Eta Carina remained one of the brightest burning stars in the sky, then mysteriously faded.
