Does She Remain The Same

M78, the constellation of Orion, one of the brightest reflection nebula in the sky. M78 is about five light-years across and appears  only as it was 1600 years ago, because that is how long it takes light to go from there to here. 
I wonder, how many times 
the sands of the great desert 
have covered the sphinx,
in those light years.
